So, the runaway train that is my life derailed this week. Like, derailed on one of those incredible suspension bridges over a deep gorge and crashed into the rocks far below.
And thus I am stuck somewhere around 16,500 words.
I am not giving up.
But damn, how am I ever gonna finish in time? I have a big family thing this weekend (in fact, I am writing from the airport), and then I’m working crazy long hours next week until Thanksgiving, then it’s time for a trip to the in-laws for some sort of hybrid Thanksmas or Christgiving.
(Those of you listening closely may realize this means we have canceled our annual overseas trip during Thanksgiving week. Gloom, despair, etc.)
So, if any of you out there want to send some warm thoughts my way, I’d appreciate it. For real.
*who got my Hee Haw reference? Anyone? Bueller?
“If it weren’t for bad luck I’d have no luck at all…”

And here are a couple of thingies from my favorite author, William Gibson, that you might find inspirational:

I’m trying to find an article or video wherein he talks about how his characters will tell him if he’s steering them in the wrong direction. I’ll send it to you if I do.
Oh, and navel-gazing = omphaloskepsis. 😀
Thanks, Fred! I’ll take a gander at those links and will be inspired!
